1 We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
2 Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.
3 For Christ did not please himself, but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached you fell on me.”
From basking in the radiance of His glory, sometimes it is easy to overlook the burdens of our brothers and their families. Paul reminds us that it is our obligation to bear with them in selfless acts of kindness and understanding the way that Christ Jesus did for us. It is always a blessing and a relief for someone to stand with us and bear the burden of a trial. There is great reward for those who submit the the law within. Submission to the law fans the Holy fire that increases the aroma of the perfect sacrifice that rises up into the heavens and pleases Holy God.
Father in heaven, will you give us the strength to endure with those who need it and let spiritual prosperity come to us who are in Christ Jesus. It is in the name of Jesus that we ask this. Amen.
